About AAUW

AAUW is a national organization with local branches.

Guests & interested parties are always welcome! Here’s a few highlights about what we are all about:

  • AAUW’s Mission: To advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.
  • AAUW’s Vision: Equity for all.
  • AAUW’s Values: Nonpartisan. Fact-based. Integrity. Inclusion and Intersectionality.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is the nation’s leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. Since our founding in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic, and political.

AAUW Conway Branch

A Brief History

We’re working on a more thorough account, but our branch was originally founded quite a while ago. Later, a member bequeathed the branch with a scholarship fund that became the focus of the branch. The Mavis Standefer Scholarship Fund assisted non-traditional students in Faulkner County complete their degrees from the University of Central Arkansas, Central Baptist College, and Hendrix College.

#BranchReboot

When the Mavis Standefer Scholarship Fund was exhausted in 2018, it provided an opportunity to reboot the branch. We’re reorganizing, recruiting, and looking to bring the awesome programs and opportunities to Faulkner County, Arkansas.
